The Philosophical Apprentice

“Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person.” Albert Einstein

…and back out again

In my last entry I mentioned I had just come in after being almost a month on the road. I had hoped to get down to some serious study but the very next day my wife and I decided to move. And so for the past 13 days I have done nothing but move, no internet of course. I do have good news however. I will be back in school next semester. It looks like the money will be there. I’ve been thinking about what I need to do to prepare myself. From past experience I know that ambitious projects in this endeavor usually do not pan out. I will be lucky if I can finish the Paul Gerard Horrigan series of Philosophy e-books. I’ve read his Introduction to Philosophy, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Knowledge, A Short History of Philosophy and Modern Philosophy. I’m almost done with his Existence of God which leaves me with Philosophical Anthropology.

I’ll also need to continue my work on Logic. I want to at least finish up the Martin Cothran series on Traditional Logic and ideally I would finish Peter Kreeft’s book on Socratic Logic but it’s not gonna happen.
